MARRIAGE A BED OF ROSES OR A BED OF THORNS

Marriage a bed of roses or a bed of thorns 

Marriage is a beautiful thing, it is an institution built on love and affection first before any other virtue.  In life, you don't get to choose your parents, siblings, relatives and even children but marriage gives you that opportunity to choose someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, based on love. Since the foundation of marriage is love (which means that you have an affection for each other)it should be a bed of roses which requires serious preparation. Most prepare for the ceremony and channel their energy, time and finances to the occasion which when covered or well taken care, they believe they are prepared for marriage. I'm particular about the neglected preparation which makes marriage a bed of roses.
 These are:

* Emotional preparedness: Study emotional intelligence.

* Mental preparedness: Have a positive and right mindset about marriage.

* Physical preparedness: Study your intended partner's body language.

* Study conflict resolution it's key for a peaceful home.

The finances and the rest comes afterward. Life is only simple when you make it simple.  We all study and get prepared for examination but we often fail to prepare for an institution which has no graduation. And That's the beginning the failure in marriage.

Make it last

Commitment binds a couple together even when they're exhausted or angry with each other. Sometimes, remembering your vows can prompt you to push pass these problems and forgive to start again.

Common values are important. If you aren’t together on basic values such as children, honesty, fidelity, and putting family before work, no amount of learning or effort of the will can resolve the conflict. For example, constant tension will result if one spouse wants to live simply while the other wants life’s luxuries.

Marriage bed of roses 

It's very possible to have a bed of roses but is your responsibility both to make the bed together. With high equal effort and partnership you will have a good marriage.

If can you put all your effort to be successful or wealthy in life, you can as well channel all that effort into your marriage and it will eventually be a bed of roses for you.
